Like it or not but Kareena Kapoor Khan’s baby Taimur has become everyone’s favourite obsession. People want to know how he smiles, cries, pouts. In fact, the other day I was reading a comment on Twitter where this certain fan was busy decoding Taimur’s fashion sense despite knowing he’s barely just 9 months old. Now that’s the amount of craze around Jr Nawab, who is no less a superstar. So it was only obvious for us to ask daddy Saif Ali Khan about Taimur, when we got to meet him during the promotions of Chef recently. Although initially Saif was like, “If I don’t see Taimur’s face after finishing these interviews then he wouldn’t recogise me( laughs). I haven’t seen him since 3 days.” But as soon as Rahul from our team asked him about Taimur’s favourite food, he said, “At the moment I think it’s mashed pear and carrot. The first time he ate swadisht(tasty) food after milk was quite an adventure. We gave him dal and mixed potato and he was like hmmm.(not bad). It is fun to feed him.”
Saif and Kareena, both are hands on parents when it comes to Taimur and ensure either of them are always around him. “I have been leaving my house early and I have started waking him up at around 7. He finishes his feed — he has just started on solid foods — and we spend about 20 minutes together. I read to him or put on some music, or nursery rhymes. Taimur, incidentally begins his day by listening to aarti. It’s his nanny’s idea. And if I return by 8 pm and he is awake, we spend another 20 minutes together. He begins his day with bhajans and ends his day by listening to Chopin and Tchaikovsky. Other than that he just, burps and farts all day, just like me. (laughs), “, said Saif in a DNA interview a couple of months back.
